Intro Class

1-on-1 · Mon & Thu 17:15, Sat 09:00 · never trained before

Your first class, private — just you and the coach. Tatami etiquette, hygiene, how to tie your belt, how to fall, how to defend, how to get back up. At your pace, in a controlled space. After this, you're ready for Fundamentals.

Fundamentals

6-month cycle · beginner-safe

A six-month cyclical course, defense-first, the base for the years to come. Where everyone lands after their Intro Class.

The foundation

Advanced

Higher intensity · high pace

Takedowns, drills and hard rounds. Maximum reps. Belt colour is not relevant — available only after coach approval.

Intensity

Physical Preparation

Two hours · No coach · Open to everyone

The room is open and the mats are down — no class, no instructor, no plan handed to you. Bring your own training: strength, conditioning, drilling, whatever you are working on. Uses one class from your membership.

Train yourself

Private

Book 1 or a block of 10 · via MAAT

One-on-one, just you and the problem. Book a single session or a block of ten for a real game plan. Works for everyone — a total beginner gets a head start, a black belt breaks old habits.

1-on-1

Mobility and Recovery

Sundays 10:00 · Open to jiu-jitsu students and outsiders alike

Mobility and recovery work. No jiu-jitsu required — not optional if you want to train for life.

Recovery

· How a class works

  1. 1

    Mobility

We take it to the ground. Check in with the body — wrists, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles — then rebuild the natural patterns the body is built for and loses over time: crawling, dragging, changing base. Only then, mobility tied to that day's position. It's the first link in a chain.

  2. 2

    Drill-chain

One position, one concept, layered: 1, then 1+2, then 1+2+3. Your body learns to connect the game automatically, before you ever go live.

  3. 3

    Problem solving

You're restricted to one part of the game and left to solve it your own way. This is the part that levels everyone — a beginner can be a real problem for an experienced fighter here.

  4. 4

    Rounds

Time to use what you learned. You're paired with someone more experienced to guide you through it.

  5. 5

    Close

Final stretch, back in a circle. Space to relax and ask questions.

Lineage
Carlson Gracie Manimal Raphael Abi-Rihan Riccardo Riccio

Taught by
Riccardo Riccio.

I started training at 15 in Rio de Janeiro, under Professor Raphael Abi-Rihan — who graduated me to black belt after 14 years.

I've competed at all belts in every major tournament, and I still compete — most recently winning the Polaris Spain Open at medium heavyweight. Although I'm used to big academies I'd rather teach a small room paying attention. Eight people a class means I actually see everyone — corrected, pushed, at the right pace. That's the whole point of RIKO.

Guest black belts rotate through regularly — you train with more than one perspective.

· First BJJ class

Your first class is a private Intro Class — just you and the coach on the mat.

Tatami etiquette, hygiene, how to tie your belt, how to fall, defend, and get back up. No gi? We lend you one. Mon–Fri, 9am or 10am — join as a member and your first two are free.
